You know how to start a retirement! This is one heck of a cruise you are taking. Why don't you start another thread telling us a little about the highlights and how many miles you are covering.
Only get on here now and then during the trip and don't wanna hijack this one too much...finished the Cumberland and made the loop down to the Ohio and back up the Tennessee today...am at Buzzard Rock marina on the Cumberland. I start up the Tennessee tomorrow toward the upper side of Wheeler lock where I left off. I'll have finished both the Tennessee and the Cumberland completely then. 926 miles so far since I launched at Hales Bar for G5 and about 500 more to go. I'll maybe try and write something for the newsletter after I'm back.

Now THAT is going into retirement in style. Anxious to hear about the trip. Keep looping and stop back at Hale's. We will see you soon enough

I just got home from Fayetteville, Arkansas where I spent the weekend at a motorcycle rally.

I'll be skipping this event next year to attend G6. Are there any cabins left? I guess I'll find out when I call tomorrow.

Ok, I started updated the first post with the reservations. I will start adding information to the listings. The cabins in red are the available cabins

Now, I reached out to the owners of the marina about rebuilding the burnt cabins. The one that built the ones that burnt are no longer in business. I have some folks around here that can fill the need and get these cabins replaced over the winter. I hope he reaches out to me.

Dave, if you could build me a nice three bedroom with bamboo floors and brass fixtures please  Oh, and soundproof walls. Every single one of my friends every year have been HUGE snorers.

It might be easier just to put you in your own "doghouse" floating free on the lake a few hundred yards downstream

wow, only one floating cabin left. Are the low numbers close to shore or near the end of the dock?

1 is closest to the corner by the fuel pump...however, some of the higher numbers were moved over right next to the marina store. I understand from Dave's comments these will be moved back in line with the others though. Really the high numbers are not that far down the dock anyway.

Heck, the party is over the whole dock anyway. It makes no difference where you are.

Yes, the understanding is that numbers 13 and above will be moved back to the main dock. They have to rewire the electricity first to get them back there

I still have not heard anything about the burnt cabin replacement.

Dave:

I sent Leann an email expressing my need for a reservation, but I never heard back from her. However, I see my name showed up on the list on your first post. I guess she got my email? I haven't given her a credit card or anything.

I'm counting on being part of the "Marching Malahini's"

I left a message for her today about reserving a 1BR floating cabin. I assume that will be #26, so it looks like we'll have two Malahinis next to each other.
