Thank YOU.

Postby Bill Edmundson » Sun Sep 09, 2012 5:08 pm

To all that came and made new memories... Thank You.

I don't think we had as many people or boats this year. And we did miss our regulars that couldn't make it this year.

But, thanks to our friends in Greece and Australia for the wine. And, to Leakcheck for his contribution covering the turkeys and oil. We named all the turkey Steve.

The Saturday morning storm didn't add anything to the fun except future stories.

We've moved out 2 weeks on the date. Most people felt it was just too difficult back to back with the holiday.

More later I'm tired.

Thanks, Bill and to everyone who helped out and to those who attended the gathering. This was the first gathering for my wife (Lynn) and I and we had wonderful time. It was really great to see these wonderful boats performing in the water. It was so nice to meet so many new people and begin some long lasting friendships. These memories will last a lifetime.

I guess the one thing that I would like to say to everyone out there who are now building or thinking of building a Glen-L boat......don't miss the chance to come to a gathering.

We drove 11.5 hours each way to get there with our boat and looking forward to the next one.

Bill,

Thanks for your dedicated and tireless devotion to making another Gathering a great success! You are an amazing man and a great friend.

Also, a "boatload" of thanks to all the other fine people (including, but not limited to: Bill Shaw, Kent, the Bartows, Ken S, Richard & Roberta, Red, Vu's Mom, etc., etc.) who helped organize, cook, clean-up and took care of all the miscelany that are required to make an event like the Gathering a success.

Gayle and I are already looking forward to G7 and hanging out with you and everyone else again next year.

BTW, dates for G7 are Sept. 20-22, 2013 correct?

Thanks to everyone who organized the event, provided and cooked food, set stuff up and made it happen!!

This was the first Gathering for Katie and I and we really enjoyed the people, the food and the boats. It was great to meet in person so many of the people you only knew by forum names.

I hope to return next year when the dates are confirmed and schedules checked.

Yeahhhhh! Ditto from me! Everyone was just great as usual and a delight to be around. Thank you so much everyone. The food was delicious, (except the turkey was really tough and kept jumping off my plate into the lake) everybody pitched in and once again made this a great event. Our Australian friends sent us 12 bottles of wine and another builder from Greece sent us two bottles of wine from the mountain of Korynthos. All of it was some of the finest wine I've tasted and trust me, I've "tasted" quite a few! Thank you so much guys for your generousity! Here's a shot of a few of us with the bottles:

By the way, Kent & John in the above photo (2nd from left and on the right), lost a total of over 111 pounds since G5--that's the equivilent of a person! Congratulations guys! I'm really proud of both of you...

Yes, the rain was a bit of a bummer as it kept most of us off the lake for a while. Can you believe what a beautiful day it was on Sunday? You just can't choose the weather. Regardless, I loved it...again, thank you so much!
