Gougeon Brothers discourages using thier slow hardener if you are coating your hull in epoxy and are planning a bright finish. They have even come out recently with a hardener specifically formulated for clear finishes. I have already purchased the epoxy/fiberglass kit from Glenn-L and it came with a slow hardener.

Has anyone used the Glenn-L epoxy on a clear finished hull? Did you have any problems with cloudiness?

Thank you for your comments.

Avery

Cloudinees should not be an issue. Most of the Riviera mahogany runabouts have been fiberglassed with epoxy (many with Glen-L Poxy-Shield), then varnished or coated with polyurethane.
In the past the Gougeon Brothers have recommended coating wood with several coats of their standard epoxy before varnishing.
If they have a new hardener, it is probably adding less "color". Epoxies generally add a somewhat "warmer" tone to the wood.
