Do I need to UV-protect epoxy under the deck area?

Do I need to UV-protect epoxy under the deck area?

Post by RoyH »

I have covered the interior hull of my Squirt with two coates of epoxy. Next is to mount the deck battens and deck.
On the exterior I must UV-protect the epoxy, but do I need to do this under the deck area?
Except for the cockpit there will be no direct sunlight on the inside of the hull.

If i need to UV-protect, how many coates is necessary?
I'm just a starteled bunny in the headlights of life..

If it does not get sun, it does not need UV protection. I used Interlux Perfection Varnish (2 Part PU). They recommend 3 or 4 coats over epoxy.
