Food Thread for G7

Postby Roberta » Wed Jul 10, 2013 5:37 am

I will be bringing the Italian sausage in marinaro sauce with buns (48). I will also bring a case of water and a case of Pepsi. Let me know what night to have the sausages ready. Friday or Saturday.

I like to do Friday night. Saturday is just too busy.

What does everyone think. Chili, Brunswick stew, or maybe Lauren will help me put together Cincinnati chili. I can make these in advance and put them together there pretty quickly.

Chili sounds great!!! Is Cincinnati Chili a variant of regular chili? I'm intrigued!!!

Cincinnati Chili has cinnamon in it and is served over spaghetti. I think it was G2 we had a chili cook off. Lauren got second. But, the winner started first and got a better position. It was all gone :!:

I'd be happy to bring some chili and cornbread.
Do you recall if the cabins have ovens or should I bake it here and bring it?

The floater I had did not have an oven. Just a two burner cook top. Not even sure we had a microwave.

We're up on the hill. I think we have an oven. Do you remember Roberta?

I know there is an oven in the cabin we were in last year. It was one of the three bedroom units halfway up the hill. We will be in the same one this year, and feel free to use the oven or anything else.... Neel

We're in for Cincinnati Chili on Friday Night. We'll need some more support on Friday. Kens is flying in. So, I doubt he'll be able to do a Low Country Boil.

I'll do the Italian sausage on Friday. That will go well with the chili.

Since Kens probably won't check a keg with his luggage, I'll bring a good selection of local brews. How about a beet tasting from around the country?
