I had a great time when I came up on Friday and Saturday. It was great to see everyone again & meet some new friends. Thank you for the boat rides! A special "Thank You" to the Brandensteins for the ride up the river on the River Run!

Here are some initial photos...

So glad to hear a G7 report! We thought about you all throughout the weekend, wondering what was happening. I'm so glad to hear it was a wonderful time in spite of some weather challenges. We really look forward to seeing all the photos and hearing more about it. John will provide info on getting photos and videos to us soon. I missed all of you! Keep the info coming!

The best way to describe a gathering is tailgating on a dock. Food was located up and down the dock which called for some serious grazing. Everything was great and the weather just slowed us down for a few hours on Saturday AM.

Gayle: we did miss your standard BBQ spread on Saturday! We tried to replicate, but you can't beat catering for the full meal deal.

It was nice to reconnect with forum friends and meet a bunch of new and future builders. It was really busy on Saturday afternoon with new builders asking tons of questions. One couple even drove down from my town, St. Louis (7 hours), to check out some builds to determine what they want to build and collect valuable intelligence. The willingness of builders to share their information in person or on the forum is one of the coolest aspects of the entire building process.

Buddy, it was a pleasure to finally meet you as well. What a finish on that racer yours! Wish you could have stayed longer for the on the water video shoot saturday afternoon.

Mike, GREAT pics! You sure picked up some of the slack in that department. Thanks.

I missed the Hales Bar Hurricane, but I drove trough one of the outer bands on the interstate pulling my boat. That was not very fun.

Anyway, had a great time and after the year I've had it was a welcomed event even with the early Saturday rain. We had a blast Saturday night with the kereoke (sp?). Nick was the man with his vocals and air guitar. It was great seeing everyone again. Neel's Gentry is a showpiece. Makes me want to break the sanders out and start over on mine. Thanks Dwayne "Ski King" for your help launching and loading my boat and the company Sunday Afternoon.

Hope to see everyone next year.

And here I was, SLAVING away to get Gentry ready for our gathering and you Guys are all having fun..... Don't feel sorry for me.... It's ok, I can handle it...

That aside, so pleased you all enjoyed it, not that I had any doubts that it would be anything less that FANTASTIC. Thanks for the photo's and descriptions so far.
By the time I have built a boat, I'll be ready to build a boat....

We pulled into the driveway at 7 PM last night. One heck of a long drive but it was worth it ! We had a great time and enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting new builders. Can't wait to see their finished boats !

Nick was in overdrive again this year and shot a ton of photos and videos. We'll post them as soon as we can.

Thanks to everyone who organized and attended the event. We hope to see you again next year !

Peter,
Not sure who travels furthest this year since Gayle & John did not attend, but I logged 982 miles (1579km) door to door.
