Gathering 7 Video clips.

Postby vupilot » Sat Oct 05, 2013 10:40 am

Im working on 3 videos I took from the Gathering. This is the first one. Jeff Peters' "Zip" boat builder interview.

Our own David Grason recorded the music used in these.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDpVLOMW ... e=youtu.be

We didn't have a good microphone setup so there is some background noise and my camera is a little old and cheap so its not as good a quality as those used in years past when we had a professional video guy and/or those among us with better equipment but it worked in the pinch we were in last minute this year.

I will send my 3 videos to John and Gayle along with my pictures this week so if they want to put these videos on their Glen-L Marine youtube channel they are welcome to do that.

I didn't think I was getting audio...but I noticed the little volume control on the player was defaulted to silent...once I moved the bar I had sound.....nice job all on that...from the music to the full interview to the fade in/out!!

Neel sent me a PM the other day asking if any of the videos Nick took at G7 were ready yet ... :P

It was tough to pare down several hours of video into a 12 minute presentation. Here's the first of our G7 videos :

Enjoy !

Glad you enjoyed the video !

Kens : We haven't had much flat water to go past 80 MPH. Most of our boating is between 40 and 70 and it will cruise at these speeds all day every day.

With 178 hours on the hourmeter, we've noticed that compression is slowly dropping evenly in all cylinders. We'll be pulling the engine as soon as the boating season is over and refreshing the piston rings, bearings and checking the transmission for wear. Now if I can get Colin to stop talking about swapping in a 400 CID block we'll be set !

We're getting off topic here, so we'll make it quick !

First 70 hours we used Shell Rotella T 15W40 (flat tappet cam) and switched to Pennzoil Conventional 10W30 when we installed the Air Flow Research aluminum cylinder heads and Comp Cams hydraulic roller retrofit kit. Oil capacity is 14 quarts.

Here is the second video.

Garfield's Zip Interview. I didn't do too well as the interviewer in this one. I kept it too short, I was too worried about battery and memory life of my camera and didn't ask near enough questions about Garfield and his well built boat. The fit and and finish of his work is not justified in pictures, it has to be seen.

Anyway, here is the video. Again, the great music was recorded by Dave Grason for this video as well.

I have one more video I am working on still and it consists of all the video clips I took over the weekend and several pictures. Hope to get it posted in a day or two.

Thank you for the credits, Chris. It's all original stuff I wrote for these videos. But I had to multi-track the recordings in order to get the rhythms and then go back and play the melodies. It was fun but exasperating at the same time. lol

I think the videos are really well done - all thanks to Chris. Can't wait for the final one.

Isn't it amazing!! The person that never has the fortitude to pursue his own dreams, will be the first to try and discourage you from pursuing yours.

Why does Garfields Zip look so long?
Did he stretch it?
