I'm certain my boat will be done by then, so count me as a solid maybe for this.

I admit, when you said midwest, I was envisioning something closer to me..., darn it.

I'm kinda in the boat Bill T. is in as I can't totally commit right now. There are some events in our area that I do not have the dates as yet. So I will have to wait and see if we can make it and whats left.

I made my reservation. Actually two 3bedroom were available so I reserved one of them, the one right at the bottom of the walkway, first one you come to
Still today only 1 cabin that isn't our group was all that was currently reserved. I told the lady that more of us would be calling today so mention the glen-l spring fling so we are near each other. She said the occupied one was the one all the way at the far end so start at the near to stay together.

Ya know, I'm almost afraid to attend one of these get togethers for fear that the name of my boat might offend. Perhaps my wife and I are the 'salty' types.

I'm not likely to ever be featured in a builder's interview.

Chris,
I would love to join you all if you don't mind me bringing my non Glen-l? Although I have yet to build one, I do have the squirt plans waiting for my Grandson to grow up so we can build it together. With Patoka being less than an hour from Bloomington it would be great to see all your builds. Let me know what you all think.

Aboslutely Dan! You are one of the "local" ones I hoped an event like this would attract. And I dont mean for this to be just a Glen-L thing. Bring any boat you built, restored, or just plain fixed up.

If you plan to stay in a floating cabin make your reservation as early as possible as they would not hold them for us. Or are you going to bring your homebuilt houseboat?

Has anyone else other than me reserved a floating cabin yet? If so please let me know so we I can keep an accurate list.

Thanks,
Chris

Chris is keeping this in the spirit of all the Gatherings. This is about boat building and sharing. Glen-L is in full support of this. You and you're boats are very welcome :!: I know. :)

I'm in. I have reserved floating cabin #3. I will be bringing my houseboat and maybe my tug. I had planned on staying on my boat but the boss thought the cabins sounded like fun?? After speaking with them it sounds like we will have plenty of room to tie off boats. So just let me know what I can do to help out.

I would love to see the Tug Dan!

I updated the first post of this thread with the cabin reservations.

Yes, there should be plenty of dock space for everyone, even with a few people bringing more than one boat. There is space to tie up between the cabins, and along the cabins. For larger boats there are about 6 slips that can accomodate longer boats at the end of the floating cabin dock. All of which are on the floating cabin dock which is seperate from the main marina.

 ok I am a old blonde that is a much simpler build than the jubilee but looks like it made a nice boat. Of course it is much smaller 8) enough hijacking the thread

Still looking for some boaters I see. Everyone should know that May on Patoka lake is ( most of the time ) A beautiful place to be. Spring will be in full swing and the rolling southern Indiana hills are amazing to see. The fishing on Patoka lake is one of the best in the state. 20 minutes away is The historic town's of French Lick and West Baden. With 2 completely restored historic hotels and a casino. These alone bring people from all over to see. I would suggest if you have time to extend one night at one of these hotels and enjoy the history. So as we all contemplate storing the boats for winter it's a good time to start to plan for next spring.

Here is some great additional lodging info that might suit some of you better. I will also post this info to the first post of this thread so its easy to find but here are the details...

Lake Patoka Marina also has a Lakeside Bunkhouse available. This is large building on the hill directly above the floating cabins that is set up more like a hotel room, there is no real kitchen like the cabins have but if we do a pitch in dinner on the dock saturday night that shouldnt be any issue. Each room comes with a boat slip that is within view from Bunkhouse. You can see in the pictures on the website how close this bunkhouse is to the cabins.
The bunkhouse is the only lodging at the marina that does not require a two night minumum.

http://www.patokalakemarina.com/lodging_bunkhouse.htm

Again, please post to this thread when you have made a reservation so we keep an accurate count of who is attending.

Thanks, hope to see you there!
