I have a 1" diameter boring bar that will take a 3/8" forstner or hole saw bit for drilling prop shaft holes. It works with a 1/2" chuck. I will be taking it with me to TN. If anyone would like to use it, be my guest. All I ask is you keep it in the loop so others could use it as well.

Bill or someone, I am totally new at this but interested in attending the Gathering Friday. I have poked around the listserve but cannot come up with a schedule of events. Could you tell me where to find that, or just tell me what's going on Fri and Fri nite? I have to return to Atlanta Saturday am. And, are there campsites? I was planning to bring a tent for the nite. Tnx, Wayne aka Zoof

Wayne

There really is no schedule. It just kind of happens.

Friday morning about 10 am some of us will make a run up to Chattanooga for lunch. That puts us back at Hales Bar about 2:30 or 3. About 5:30 we'll start putting supper on. This goes on as people start coming in.

Saturday morning coffee is out and maybe some breakfast items. Saturday lunch is open, right now. About 1:30 the smaller boats usually go out followed by the larger boats. Saturday night usually lots of food, music and beer.

Sunday morning breakfast, pull boats and say goodbye.

Nothing is set in stone. Boat rides can happen at any time, just ask. There is a bat cave down the lake someone may want to make that sunset run, be careful!

No one is really in charge here. Just a bunch of people meeting at a lake having fun together and talking BS. It's fun.

Hales Bar has some camp sites. There are many others in the area.

Wayne,, Maybe you could join us on the run to Chattanooga. As Bill said, we will be leaving Hales Bar around 10 AM and there may be an extra seat or two.

Thanks Bill and Neel. I can get there by 10 Fri but have to leave Sat morning for a wedding back in Atlanta. Fortunately, not one of mine, however! I located $10 campsites at the county park next exit up. However, since my curiousity is about wooden boats and boat building, especially sail boats, will I have a decent chance to talk to people Fri or is Saturday when most everything happens?

Tnx, Wayne

Hope all goes well for G8 and no big gales of wind like at G7. I'll miss you all and all the fun this year but promise (God willing) to be back at G9 with the Torpedo and that song about the "Gales of September"

I'll be there probably about noon Thursday. I like to let rush hour traffic clear in B'ham. before I leave with the boat.

We arrived about an hour ago. Everything on our list has been completed. The only things left are to install dock cleats and replace the bad "L" dock to boat fender system. All of that is supposed to be completed by Wednesday. I think everyone should be happy with what they have done here. Craig and I will have food and drinks here at our cabin (land cabin #7) on Thursday night. Everyone is invited. Nothing fancy, probably baked spaghetti, beer, wine and scotch (cheap)... Please RSVP here if you would like to join us.....Neel

Neel

Food sounds good to me.

I have 6 swim noodles and 7 cleats for the dock. That will cover about 30 feet.

Koozies shipped today. They're going straight to Hales Bar, Fed-Ex. They should make it.
