Is this gathering held in the same place each year or do you move around? If it moves, anyone know where it'll be next year?
Thanks

Re: 2014 Gathering G-8
Will there be any sailboats at the Gathering, or mostly powerboats?
Re: 2014 Gathering G-8
This event has only been in two locations during its 8 years. First it was Guntersville, AL for the first 3 years. Been at Hales Bar Marina/Resort ever since.

Oak is over rated, everything about it takes extra time; then it warps, splits or checks !!!

Re: 2014 Gathering G-8
I wish I could be there. Katie is out of town and visiting relatives make it not possible.
It sounds like the marina has made improvements and hopefully the weather will be better than last year.
Have safe travels, eat good food and make new friends.
Beer is optional but highly recommended.
See you at G9.

Bob
Wish ya'll were here.
As of Thursday night... WE have 4 mahoganies, 2 Tahoes, a Gentry and a Hybrid. We have a True Grit and a Sea Knight. There is a Utility on the road. I'm not sure what else.
I pretty sure we have 5 boats running to Chattanooga tomorrow and at least 15 people.

I think the River Run had the biggest crowd for lunch ever!
5 boats with 22 people, and several more folks drove in for lunch!
A beautiful day on the water.

Wow, lots of great looking boats.
Beautiful weather. No gale force winds.
What could be better than home built boats on the water.

Another fantastic Gathering in the books... the weather was perfect, the food was fantastic, the stories, jokes and beer flowed. Thanks to all for coming! We missed the rest of you and wish you will join us for another future Gathering soon. Hope everyone has safe travels home.
One of the biggest surprises of the event for me was Isaiah and his grandpa Doug came down un-announced from WI and MN. He is the young boy that built and paid for his own Glen-L Utility and is the featured video on the Glen-L homepage.
Here are a few pictures and a river run clip. I don't want to flood this thread with pictures, we will have them all in one place soon but here are a few more teasers and a video clip from the River Run.
