Re: 2014 Gathering G-8
Thanks to all who made G8 possible and a special thanks to Ray Turner for lunch on Saturday - superb. It was a great time. Makes me regret not being at more of them, especially since it is so close. Thanks to Chris also for keeping a photo/video journal. Looking forward to the full album.

PS: I apologize to Doug for the poor seamanship but he was a good sport. Now that you've had a ride in my sailboat, I'll be looking forward to a ride on the Pearson.
The only thing I would add is "WATCH OUT FOR THE GRASS!"

Looks like another great Gathering! Glad to hear Isaiah and Doug made it and everyone else too. Good to see "Innocence" back in one piece and to see lots of familiar faces in the photos. John and I really miss all you folks and wish we could have been there....

Dale K, send me a PM with your email address and I will send you the pictures I have of your sailboat in the water that you wanted.

I just took care of the last physical remnants from this past weekend's Gathering - some Brunswick stew that we took home which was made by Mannan and Becky (ok maybe not Mannan, lol). I had finished some clam chowder made by the Crumley family (Jon, Charlene, Jacob) as well.
Oh well! Just one of the many things to look forward to next year's Gathering!

I really enjoyed coming for my first Gathering.
I've built a lot of model boats in my time, but never a full size. Getting closer now though...and as I expected, coming to the Gathering really got my juices going to move forward.
Here is a link to a LOT of photos and some videos that I took. You are welcome to any and all:

I bought Tunnel Mite plans years ago after it was on the cover of Popular Mechanics. I still have that issue (1974!) in my workshop. Then, about 10 years ago, I bought Squirt plans from a guy locally. I just need to quit building R/C models for a while and make some sawdust at a larger scale!

I had a fantastic time at G8. It was great to see everyone, to meet new people, and of course to ride in your amazing boats.
I want to add a special "Thank You" to Neel for the ride on the River Run, and to Chris for letting me drive his Utility.

Re: 2014 Gathering G-8
Just got home to So Illinois. Departed Hales bar Sunday morning after G8 pointing the True Grit for Chattanooga. Stayed on the Walnut Street Bridge dock for three nights and then back to Hales Bar and spent two more nights in a slip. Weather continued to be as beautiful as it was for the G8 weekend.
Great to see all you "ole timers" again and also meet new friends that share this boat building addiction. A special thanks to Jackie and Kevin Kluck for a great ride on their beautiful Monaco. Still can't wrap my mind around the fact they built it in 10 months time! UNREAL!!!
When we left Hales Bar this morning Bob Maskel's Sea Knight was still in the parking lot so I guess he is still enjoying his side trip to Pensacola, FL before returning to the deep freeze commonly refereed to as Minneapolis-St. Paul.
Already looking forward to G9. See you all there.
A parting photo taken this morning heading for the trailer.
