2014 Gathering-Friday Boating

Postby jcrumley » Mon May 19, 2014 11:03 am

Hi All....My son and I are building the Dyno-Jet. We plan to be at the 2014 Gathering. My wife is planning to come as well. If anyone has seats available for the boating excursion on Friday morning for lunch in Chattanooga,we would appreciate a reserved boat seat for 1, 2 or 3 people. We can ride together or split up as folks are generous with their seating. You can email me @ rescuedsheep@icloud.com to coordinate/confirm. Thanks for the opportunity.....Jonathan

I received a PM and email from Paul Kane (Mr.Hot Rod). He is not quite healthy enough yet to make the trip to G8. He has been the driving force in past years for organizing the Friday "Lunch Run to Chattanooga"... He asked if I would organize it this year and I told him I would do my best. Not sure exactly what needs to be done other than set a time for departure. Let's make it around 10 AM. We should be back to Hales Bar by 4 PM. We should have some extra seats in the boats for those wanting to take the ride. I guess we need to know what boats will be going and how many extra seats will be available. I should have room for one in my boat.

I know Butch Barto asked that we wait for him. Will others be coming in Friday morning? Will 10 AM work for everyone? Looking for comments and suggestions here... Thanks,,,,Neel

We'll be coming up from Atl Friday morning.
10:00 might be tough to make for us but we'll defer to whatever is decided.
We'll miss Paul!

Let's make it 11 AM departure and if everyone is there earlier than that we will take off. Will you be taking your boat on the run Bob?

This is great fun. I encourage anyone who can make it. It's about an hour run (it might not be that long). About a 5 to 10 minute walk to the restaurant. Good company, good food and a nice ride. A real highlight if you can go.

That should work for us I plan to be there no later than 8: or 9: Launch boat and set up RV wont take us 30 minutes or so. As long as we don't have any trouble on the road break downs ,flats and such. Seem like even with good tires we have tire trouble every other time we take a road trip. Got new Good Years all around the RV . Boat trailer set up little over 2 years now . Thinking of just get 4 new ones save the others for spares.

Flor and I plan to be there.
We are looking for a ride, please.

It is actually more like a 2 hour run up there for lunch.
By the time everybody gets together, gets running, arrive, get tied up at the dock, refuel as required, then it is a 2 hour run.(lots of stories telling going on)

11am start would be a 1pm arrival, though.
I dont think we have ever returned before about 6pm. (and we left at 9am)
Oak is over rated, everything about it takes extra time; then it warps, splits or checks !!!
