Filling the weave

Filling the weave
Building a malahini, I have the fiber glass wet out, now ready to fill the weave with epoxy. What's a good technique to apply the fill layer? I'm using silver tip system 3 laminating epoxy. Used foam roller in the past , but they really swell up with epoxy. Thanks,
Matt

"Filling the weave", is really a misleading term. each coat you're also building up the high points. 2 or 3 coats are fine. I use a brush. You then have enough to sand it down to a uniform gray.

Re: Filling the weave
Ok, thanks. I'll try a brush, sounds easy enough.
Re: Filling the weave
Roller but used the yellow ones that have a really short nap and are for epoxy. They dont get saturated with epoxy and swell like the thicker nap foam.
Re: Filling the weave
I used the small rollers because they are fast but found best results with going over it with a brush

I used a little of everyone's techniques, rollers, brushes, plastic broad applicator, etc..it all worked out well enough. Ready for primer. Thank you for the advice.

Looks like you got it on no problems! Nice work.
I used a plastic scraper and a yellow foam roller. I found the plastic scraper was best for early coats and pushing the epoxy into the weave and ensuring you dont get too much on. If you have too much epoxy when you are wetting out, the fibreglass will float on it and create lumps.
The roller was perfect for all other coats.
