I fiberglassed my Tango hull using the dry method but I forgot to put the seal coat down and I am wondering how bad a mistake that was?
thanks

Hi Dave, not sure what you mean by seal coat, but when I glassed my Sea Knight I did it over the raw plywood hull. Taped the cloth in position over the sanded raw plywood, saturated the cloth with epoxy and made sure the bubbles were out and the cloth was wetted thoroughly and the white spots were gone. It came out just fine, no issues and everything stuck great. I put a couple more coats of epoxy on to fill the weave and she was ready for painting.

Hope this is what you were asking...

Dave,

Ditto Bob's comment.

Dave,

You effectively killed the proverbial two birds with one stone. No problem.

Assuming you are using polyester by needing a seal coat? (and being under fiberglass forum)

Not that bad. The thinned resin really doesn't do all the advocates claim. It does help the cure a bit, but it's not important for adhesion.
