Need a little help. I'm building a Kidyak. I'm to the point where I fillet and tape the exterior seams. However, I don't have any 3" tape left. The bill of materials says the kit came with 12 yards/36 feet of 3" wide strips. I took rough measurements of the seams and 36 feet is about what it took to tape all of the interior seams, both within the enclosed ends and the cockpit area. So, my questions are these:

Do I not tape the seams with the 3" wide strip? (Will the cloth covering the entire hull be sufficient?) In other words am I misunderstanding the instructions?

Do I cut some 3" strips from the excess fiberglass cloth?

Was the 12 yards supposed to be enough to cover all interior and exterior seams? While I did overlap where pieces joined together in the corners, I don't believe I wasted much of it, and definitely did not waste the 17 or 18 feet that will be needed for the exterior seams. Am I just misunderstanding?

Thanks,
Chris

The cloth covering will be fine.

I don't know the instructions, but it sounds like you are on track...
