Pin Maps

Postby Bill Edmundson » Tue Jan 26, 2016 3:42 pm

Where are our builders :?:

I went through about 50 pages of our members list sorted by number of post. I started with those active in the last 10 years. By the time I was down to 4 post, I was down to about 3 months.

The red pins on the US map are a little hard to see, sorry. I put a flag on the locations of the Gathering. I think it makes it pretty clear why we pick this location. Maybe, we could move a little northeast. Access to Nickajack is really hard to beat though. I could not get all the pins into the eastern US on the world map.

If I missed you, I'm sorry. If you felt a sharp pain when I put the pin in, I didn't mean it to be a Voodoo map!

Does the cold weather keep you out of the shop and this is what you're doing to stay busy? Neat idea Bill.

Beer breaks or not, that was a LOT of work, Bill. Whew. But a fabulous idea just the same.

I've always heard that French trappers were responsible for giving the Grand Tetons their names. This means the Large Breasts as I understand it. When I was a kid, my family and i visited that national park and during an amphitheater presentation, the ranger explained how the tallest of the three main peaks literally meant the Big Tit. I looked at my dad and said: "Seems to have gotten a mite lonely out on the prairie."

So I have to ask you, Chug. Are you gettin a little lonely up there in Minnesota?

I'll probably retake these pictures. I was tired and wanted to get them posted.

The one red pin on the world map and the large red pin on the US map are Glen-L. The blue pins, US, are significant members who have gone inactive. Black pins have died.

This was an interesting exercise in geography.

Interesting project Bill. Glen-L has builders on 5 of 7 continents. Not bad, Not bad at all!

Really neat idea Bill. I always liked the map and pins that we do at the Gatherings. This takes that to a whole new level. Thanks

 We recently discovered a new type of dinosaur in Wales and our local news showed a clip of a US news report on the subject, saying it was discovered in Wales, in ENGLAND!!! - Cut back to the studio and the reporter laughed... but there was little humour in her face.

Not to worry - the English often get confused too. Excellent work on the map in any case!
