I don't have any one to tow my cooker so I am shifting from ribs to Frying Turkey again that seem to be a hit last time . I can cook 1 or 2, 12-14 # birds takes about one hour for each one. I will have them injected and seasoned ahead of time so all I will have to is drop them in the fryer. Saturday will free up Bill to do other things .

The other day we did 4 pounds of Red Beans and Sausage! for Friday Night. If we do the hotdog stand at Saturday lunch I got a package of chili.

We're down to about a month. We probably need to start filling in the blanks.

Thursday Night:
Neel Thompson and friend Craig Fleming have spaghetti, at their cabin, on the hill.

Friday Breakfast:
Bob & Katie Brandenstein - Belgian Waffles
John Amundsen & Devesh Srivastava - Sausage

Friday Lunch:
We take the boats to Chattanooga (I think it's Big River Grill.) We leave about 10a.m. C.T. and we're back about 3p.m. C.T.

Friday Night:
Roberta & Rich Hegy have Brats and Italian in Marinara Sauce
Lauren Edmundson - Olive, artichoke and pasta salid
Bill Edmundson - Something I tink we gonna did Red Beans and Rice AAHHEEEEH!
Chris Attwood - Chicken Tortilla soup
DrBryanJ - Lime and Cilantro Chicken Breasts

Saturday Breakfast:
Bob & Katie Brandenstein - Belgian Waffles
John Amundsen & Devesh Srivastava- Sausage

Saturday Lunch:
Gathering Kitty - DIY Hotdog Bar. I'll bring the electric grill, dogs and condiments. I think I've got a package of chili also.

Saturday night:
Bob Smith - Roast Pig
Butch & Paula Barto - Fried Turkey
Bill Edmundson - Maybe Corn on the Cob (If I get the pot clean.)
Chris Attwood - Chicken Tortilla soup

Sunday Breakfast:
Still open

I think Dr Bryan is bringing 20 pieces of chicken. That might be good to supplement Friday night.

Bill, I think the restaurant for the river run is called "Big River Grille" I mention that so the folks that might drive there by car end up at the right place. :)

Find another restaurant?
Which one?
Somebody posted about the restaurant on site at Hales bar, is that the one you mention 'find another'' ?

Or, do you mean fins another to replace the Friday River run?
Has the Big River Grille run amuck?
Oak is over rated, everything about it takes extra time; then it warps, splits or checks !!!

I just contacted the Big River Grille and they are not closed. They will be happy to welcome the Glen-L group.

Great!! I really liked going there. Would be hard to find a nicer place so close to the docking.

There are several good restaurants in that part of town. In fact, there's a restaurant at the Southern Belle, which is literally right there at the docks downtown. It's basically a burger bar on the upper deck of a boat that's permanently-moored there. http://chattanoogariverboat.com/3rd-deck-burger-bar/

However, Big River Grille really is a great venue for the Glen-L crowd... not to mention it's become a tradition.

Don't know what to say about the restaurant at Hales Bar. I was there on a Saturday with my daughter, tugging on the locked door with the words "Open Saturday" on it. So, I have no idea what to expect there.

I've yet to eat at the Hales Bar restaurant. Every time we are there it is either closed or we are having our food on the dock. Very inconsistent hours it seems. I don't count on eating there.

A group of us ate at HB on Thursday night a couple of times. It was pretty good and we had a good time. But, that's been a while. It's not a substitute for Neel and Craig's offering. And, the river run is just too good.

Neel, I was wondering why you said something about a new restaurant. I didnt say it was closed, just Bill was calling it by the wrong name and I didn't want anyone that was going to meet there by car to go to the wrong place.
No need to change, its a good restaurant in a great location, not sure why anyone thought it was closed.
