The first article is actually a re-worded article from the AWS from several years back. Still it is a very good article. I teach vocational welding and I use the article as an instructional source. The waveform technology is really changing the way we can weld aluminum and the article really explains it well. Thanks for posting the link, it will answer a lot of questions for the hobbist.
