I have finally reached the point of I am either going to build a wildcat or bearcat within the next year or I am going to give up the dream. I have own a 25' seacat and one of my good friends has a 29' Baha Cat which he bought as a result of riding on my seacat. The difference in the performance of the two boats is incredible. The seacat was everything a cat is advertise to be. In 3'-4' seas I could easily run 28-30 knots without being slammed or wet with spray. It set very well when at anchor and even in sideseas there was not a lot of roll. The boat performance was ever bit as good as my nephew's 35'cabo.
The baha is just the opposite. It slams in any sea over 3', it will soak you to as much as any shower will in a rough sea. In a side sea you need to hold on good or you will be in the drink. Really it is not any better of a riding than most monohulls.
I was wondering what type of performance anyone may be getting from the wildcat/bearcat boats. I really want to build a cat, but I do want to know I will get a good performing boat and not getting a poor riding boat.
