Arrived home safe last night. On the way, I stopped on I81 in northern Va. Neel and Craig were stuck on the side of the road. They thought they lost one of their bearings. Ends up the lug nuts on one of the wheels had worked loose. Tightened them up and they were back on their way.

Glad they got back on the road. We went through that area and did not see anyone stopped. May have been behind us or already gone. We left about 7am.

Thank you, David! Could you tell me which Minuet is which builder? Also, what is the inboard? Looks like a Bonanza. I think that's Butch's dash, right?

Gayle

I believe it is a Tornado. The hull was built about 40 years ago. They bought it an estate sale about 5 years ago with engine and hardware. They build hotrods. She does body work and he does the mechanical. Don't know the top end. It's well over 50.

Gayle,
The black minuet was built by Joel and Kathy from Corpus Christi Texas. The blue Minuet was built by a couple out of Gatlinburg Tennessee, Ron and Claire I think. This was only the third time they had put it in the water but I could tell they were veteran sailors.Too bad there was not much wind but they got out there for an hour or so.
Here is a picture of them both as seen from the Aquatron.

A big thanks go out to Matt and Heather B. (Hercdrvr) for the wanderful Taco Buffet they prepared for all. It was awesome. We had a lot of fun Saturday night with good food, good drink but most importantly good friends. Thanks to Kieth for the karioke and kudos to all those who were brave enough to lend their vocal talents.

Here is a picture of the festivities getting underway as the sun sets behind the mountain.

Hello again everyone...

I don't have any pix to add yet, but wanted to take a second to thank all of those involved in a very fun weekend! This was Kathy and my first gathering, so we didn't really know what to expect, but assumed it would be fairly casual and that's perfect for us!! What we found was exactly that. A fun time involving many people of similar interests with lots of stories, laughter, camaraderie, and even though it was our first trip, open arms that made us feel welcome before we even got out of the truck in the Hales Bar parking lot!!

No one ever went hungry, the days were all full, the weather was great (I'm sure Craig will claim he arranged that! :D ) and all of this pulled off without a hard-core schedule or plan. My kind of event!

Since I would fail any test to remember peoples names after only a couple of days, I will simply say GREAT WORK to all who worked so hard to pull this off whether it was events, food, parking, greeting newbies, etc! All the hard work was certainly noticed and contributed to a wonderful weekend!!!

To all of our new friends, we wish you the best from Texas and can't wait to see you (yawl..!) again soon! You made us feel proud to present "Spirit of Jessica" and we loved seeing the beautiful boats you have handcrafted as well!
