thanks again for all the input on the engine mounts. guess i can get back to construction. got a 3x3x3/8" 13' piece of 6061 at a local steel company that they called a "drop". said if they cut it for me it would cost the same as an 8'length... evidentally the remains from a 21+ foot length. seems to be plenty "husky" and enough to get me through a few more boats

BILLY C I USED 3X4X3/8 ON MY HANKINSON TAHO 23 I BOLTED THE MOTOM MOUNTS TOGATHER BY RIPING DOWN SOME SHORT PEICES OF THE ANGLE FOR L-BRACKETS IN THE CORNERS AND THREE 1/2''BOLTS SIX ON EACH CORNER.I MADE THE MOTOR SUPPORTS AS LONG AS THE ENGINE COMPARMENT BOLTED TO THE STRINGERS EVERY 6''.I HAVE A MARINE POWER 8.1 BIG BLOCK WITH 385 HP. IN HER .WE HAVE OVER 40 HOURS ON HER NO PROBLEMS AND WE HAVE BEEN IN BIG WAVES DOWN HERE IN FLORIDA THE BAY IS 8 MILES ACROSS AND ABOUT 40 MILES LONG LOTS OF BIG BOAT WAKES AND CHOP
