Hello I just wanted to take a minute and add this post. I bought a 5HP Force outboard last fall on E-bay. good price, good condition, and local pickup was available, So I bid on it and won. Well the guy lived 5 minutes away and it took over 2 weeks to get the guy to meet me some place to get it. As you can see it was to good to be true. The outboard that ran, (didn't run at all), bad coil. So I have been on the lookout for a coil for the motor for about 6 months now and guess what you cant find one any were. Well I thought there may be some one out there with the same problem. If so you are in luck homelite made some chainsaws back in the day with the same coil. found them on E-bay. the plug wire is shorter but that can be fixed very easily. Look for a coil that fits a HOMELITE SUPER EZ chainsaw, there are some other saws that they used them in as well. the coil was made by prestolite #3405347. The coil I got had the prestolite name removed but the part number was still on it and it's the same as the outboards coil number. Well I hope this may help someone bring there old outboard back to life. By the way the outboard is a 91 model with HEI not points and I think the Sears Gamefishermen is the same thing.

That is my Ebay luck too.

It used to be a good source for some rare old stuff, but it's turned into the way people dump old junk they know isn't worth a thing. caveat emptor!
