that is one thing I don't miss about GA. I lived in Warner Robins for about 4 years and hated the summer heat/humidity. It made living there miserable.

Lookin' Great!!! I know what you mean about the heat!! It's been hot up in WI all week and that has slowed me a bit. Supposed to cool a bit later this week. I try to work in the AM and open a garage door and lower the screen, but lately that only last a few hours before the mug settles in.

EXACTLY! I even tried closing the garage door, waiting untill after dark (which isnt till 9:30 or so right now) and cranking the AC up in the house. That only cuts it down a few degrees. Its definitly slowing me down...but i'm trying to power through.

making some good progress......after 10 hours i gave up today....as you can see i didnt get the bumper rail around the bow yet. i snapped one before i wised up and used boiling water to limber the wood. i ended up getting frustrated with the silicon-bronze screws once again and called it a day. more tomorrow after work!

Im sure you already know this but if you wrap the rails in towels of boiling water at the stress point then bend 'em about halfway until they are stressed a bit then use a bungee or clamp to hold them that way overnight when you come back the next day they will bend the rest of the way much easier.
I cant imagine how much Gatorade/water you are consuming in this heat working long days on it. When you look back youll be proud of those hot days you spent working hard.

HEHEHE...my brother left Warner Robbins and is now in Quatar...he says he doesn't know what he was thinking...he hated the 100 degree weather so he went to the 130 degree!!!! And they don't have HANGERS to work in !!!! They actually have to take off in the middle of the night when the air temp gets below 100 !!!

Hey Kens...are you a plane mechanic type??.,.. I sure wish I was right now...my brother is making some serious change over there...he is on pace for 180K this year alone! And they don't do squat!

Steve

He is going to send me a pic of some of the boats he has been on. They loaded up a couple of Lexus SUV's and a couple of boats and brought them to Africa for the Sheik to play with!!

...OH..and they came back from Africa with a giraffe and a couple other crazy kinda animals!

I know the silicon bronze screws can be a real PITA. I found using a tapered bit with the countersink set at just short of the screw length being used works best for these screws. The taper bit cuts the hole a little wider for the shank of the screw, but leaves it narrower for the threaded part. I also set my driver torque to prevent stripping it out. I also really lean on the driver to keep as much pressure on the screw to keep from grinding out the screw frearson slots.
