Hoo Boy!, what a week. Last Thursday, I finally had the Ct. DEP officer come to my house to inspect the Squirt. She circled it once, saw that the HIN, was correctly placed, said nice job, have a good day. I put in this request for this inspection in May. I had a temp Ct. registration for the boat, That said it expired 6/30/11. After her inspection I had dinner, and decided to go out with the dog. Same as usual, we have it down to a science. This is probably the 20th time out. We zip it around the lake a few times, down to the park, I always look for Dep., when we're down there, for I diddn't take the required 8 hr. state boating course, which is required obtain you're boating licence. 90 bucks for a class today for the full8 hrs, in a very uncomfortable seat, and if and when you pass the final test, after the 8hrs, you can take your diploma to your nearest dep office, 1 hr. away, and give them 50 more bucks for your licence. So we get back to the truck at the launch, and the same officer, Officer Scatera is waiting there with this other, huge, male officer. Here's how it went... first off I had my beverage in one of the cup holders. Bub's right next to me. They say get out of the boat, and trailer it. Did it. In the process I threw a towel over mfb, and hoped for the best. She was pissed!!! " If I wasn't at your house 2 hrs. ago... I probably wouldn't have noticed this boat!"... "You have no registration, or a licence!!"..."Is this trailer registered???!!", I do live in a private community. It's 100' to the H2O. "This is a big problem!!", I was very nervous about the whole scene. There were these 2 people, lovebirds, on the end of our dock, who were there when I launched, and returned. They were very nice, and felt bad about the situation. Bubba jumped out of the boat and distracted The big officer from the cover up job. The other one comes out of the cruiser, and hands me a ticket for $250. Oh Shit I thought, that's alot of dinero, right now

....So now it's Sat., and I 'm going to do the whole thing this weekend...I found a course in Hartford, an hour away, and sign up for it. I just got home, and I'll have to say, although that was somewhat informative, for 7 hrs., you start to become stir crazy..like being on a jet, going from JFK, to Toyko, nonstop. I got my diploma!! I found out , when I went to my local DMV, that the boat WAS temp registered through Sept. 30!! They printed a statement saying that, and I'll use it to contest half of that ticket...The other half was my fault!

After this I'll have to go back to the DMV and try again to register the trailer...After buying this PWC Karavan trailer from this kid in Mass., last year, I've learned that I need the VIN from the trailer to reg. it. Guess what? no vin anywhere. Went over it with a microscope. Now I'll have to reg. it as a home built, and then go to Hartford again to the main dmv office, where there, is the only dmv in Ct. that issues new vin #'s!! Isn't all this fun!!?? They're only open from Tues-Fri 8-3 . You need an inspection too, for an additional fee. O.K that's all for now... thanks for letting me ramble for a while, I was it all to be legal, so I can tow it to G-5, but whoo boy!, what a hassle!!!
