Good news is that I took my diploma, today, to the Westport branch of the DEP, and they gave me my licence!!!

yeah. Leakcheck, I too, gave up on the trailer tag...about a month ago. I figured I live in a private community, like I said it's like about 100' to the water. I'd payed for the tempoary plate, the paper type, but it expires within 10 days, so you have to take time off from work to drive the thing an hour away for an inspection. Why can't they do this terribly intensive, hard, and time-consuming inspection,at the dmv, in the next town, 10 mins. away??? I swear when you walk into the Ct. DMv, and tell them that you have something "Home-Built", that you need to register, their jaw drops onto the service window, other employees come running over to try to help, they dust off their books on the shelves, that cover h.b boats, talk alot amongst themselves, then come back to tell you that they can't do it. Then I would try to register the trailer withou the vin, and the jaw drops further. So I also gave up on that one. I know I'll need to do it to go to G-5, I just need to get through this B.S first. Thanks for the congrats!

These are the rules over here:

The positioning of the two types of marker is determined by the general direction taken by a vessel when entering a harbour or proceeding upstream.

Under this convention a vessel entering, for example, the Port Adelaide River would keep the port (red) markers on her port side and the starboard (green) markers on her starboard side.

When leaving the harbour or proceeding downstream the situation is reversed, meaning that the port markers should now be passed on the vessel’s starboard side and vice-versa.

I just love the intercoastal waterway. Half way between bays the markers switch sides. Mid bay they swap again.

ok the saga continues.... I took a half day at work today, so that I could go to the only DMV in Ct. that will assign a new vin #, for a trailer without one. I had to keep the Squirt on the trailer, and tow it up 1 hr throught heavily trafficed interstates... no transom saver, and very bumpy roads, at 60-70 mph. I arrived there, at the coveted, almighty, biggest, bestest DMV in the state at 12:45 pm. I read on the paperwork that they will assign vin#'s till 3:00pm. I pulled in and immediatly an officer came to my truck, and stated "The line stars over there!!, you're in the wrong place!!" I just wanted to know if I had to go inside the building, before the inspection??? OK I diddn't have to. I got in line. I sat there in line for almost 2 hrs, and as I approached the garage door, for the inspection, the officer came up to me and asked "what do you need?" "I need a new vin assignment for the trailer..." " you are too late, Sir, you will have to come to back another time." I just sat there for 2 hrs., in 100 degree heat, to have them tell me that??!! "Go home sir, and come back Monday." FFFFFFF-UUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!, I thought!!!!! I just went home. I give up on that one.

Oh that sucks so bad!!! Dang....memories of Atlanta DMV lines !!!

I sent me one dollar check and request to Marietta DMV and I already got my old registration back..BUT THERE IS NO VIN ON IT !!! Dang....now I have to do the whole vin thing anyway! ..I will never get fishing the way this is going! Maybe I can turn it into a sled and use it in the winter!

Monday i will bring in the old registration and see what happens. Otherwise I am writing to Cheyenne and find out if I can get a new VIN!
