Thanks for that, The piccies will help me make mine. Unfortunately, work is getting in the way. One side is all but done and this weekend I hopefully will get a good portion of the other side done. Unfortunately my Dad needs me to put some roof sheets on for him on Saturday so probably Sunday will be my only day.

Well, since my last post, I have made the cradle and "roll cage" for the flip. I also have fiberglassed the bottom up to the water line. I used 6 OZ. fabric and MAS epoxy resin with the slow hardener. I masked off at the water line with duct tape and cut the glass after it started to set with a razor knife at the edge of the tape for a nice line. I applied three coats of resin, each within about three hours of each other and then let dry for a few days. Then I sanded smooth and applied the final resin coat. After a few more days, I will sand that with 80 grit and paint the bottom with two coats of Interlux Micron CSC bottom paint. I plan to install the strut prior to the flip and the rudder at a later point. Again, this forum has been a huge help to me, and as you can see from the cradle pics, I have copied some of your ideas..... Thanks,,,,Neel

Ready to flip.... I painted the bottom with two coats of Micron CSC (antifouling) paint and have permanently installed the strut. Tomorrow I will attach the cradle and roll contraption I built, and ten of us are going to flip her over. This is exciting !!! I really wanted to paint the bottom with a gloss finish, but will be using the boat primarily in the Chesapeake bay and it's tributaries which requires antifouling paint. I don't plan on leaving this boat in the water too long, but it doesn't take too long to screw up the bottom. I wlll post some pictures after the flip, assuming we don't drop it....Neel

Yesterday we flipped her over. I think I over-engineered the flip, but it was really anticlimatic and took all of about two minutes start to finish. I did have about ten guys to help and the roll contraption worked great. I will post some pics of the flip when I get them from the designated photographer. These pictures were taken this morning. I can see I have a lot of work ahead, but this part of the build will be the most rewarding, I think.....Neel

Wow, that looks fantastic. 8) What a great milestone to achieve. You are well overtaking me now. My only excuse is three funerals in as many months to deal with. The real detail starts now, I have read that at the flip you are 20% of the way through.

Glenn.... I hope that 20% figure is wrong..... I am ready to go cruising!!! I saw you had some problems with a piece of planking, but it sounded like you had that under control. The pictures you have posted recently look great...Keep moving..Neel

Well the 20 percent is probably accurate if you want to finish the boat before you run it. Sometimes getting the boat to a run stage, floating and running it can tie your mental anquish over to the finish stage too, or so has been the experience of some folks here. Of course a warning is needed here. It goes without saying once again, you are never really done with these projects.
