On my build you could have 7 foot of recessed deck. You would have to make different arrangements for fueling

Thanks for looking John! I was thinking about saddle tanks to accommodate this idea.

The ruler and pencil are telling me to look at the Biscayne now, as it might have a little more distance from the transom to the engine without having to be almost 25 feet long...

So tedious...

Sometimes, sometimes. Of course we literally have it out to nap in almost daily in the summer, but there's also other "functions" for that area when it's dark out...

I can't get a set of measurements to work out ideally against any of the hulls because there's just not enough depth. I guess a little bit of that is the downfall of mahogany runabouts and their sleek look, no way to get the nice lines with the kind of displacement and hull depth I need.

Too bad we can't talk someone into drawing an aft engine, V drive, sun deck aft utility with the rest of the boat open for a massive amount of seating.

I think Dave said he was going to be out of town or out of touch for a while.

There's just so little room to be had over the engine that it's a real challenge. Best I could muster is that you have to move into the taller boats (Belle Isle or Biscayne), and you deal with the motor cover when you get to it. The Tahoe really has as little as 1.5" above the engine to the deck beams, and the padding would need to be inset into the deck at least flush, as it'd look wonky above the decks. Tahoe has less space between the tailshaft of the engine and the transom, so the Florida style mod is really, really tough on that hull.
