This was our 2nd Gathering and truly the most fun since I had a boat there. The people, the boats, the food, the music and just plain old fun were fantastic, but the most memorable moment for me was the honor of receiving the Prestigous PFD Award from Bill Edmundson. I am humbled. Thank you so much.

Roberta :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Thanks to all for a GREAT weekend! We enjoyed meeting everyone. The food was awsome and the boats were inspiring. Can't wait for next year!

Great time! Great fun! Great boats! And, especially great people! I really enjoyed G-5!

Kenny

P.S. Some have posted their fuel costs for the event. I think I spent the same amount as last year.

vdriver, thanks for the ride. I would be cool if I said it didn't scare the living @T%OI# out of me...I'd be lying. I think you knew it when I was waving to passers by, you hit the throttle, and my hands grabed on for dear life. Oh what a ride!

Out of all the Gatherings I believe this one was the best. Tons of fun :D Next year I'm going to make the trip to Chattanooga with everyone. Dwain and I made it about a third of the way Sunday But had to turn back because fuel was running low.

Thanks for a great sailboat ride Kenny.

Thanks for all the pictures posted.

Has anyone heard from Skip? I dropped him by the Chattanooga airport Sunday afternoon and followed up with a few e-mails, but I haven't heard from him.

David

Amen and amen to all the comments! I had such a wonderful time. Thank you everyone for everything. Is that generic enough? I'll write my thoughts in an article soon. My Dad was very honored to receive the beautiful plaque. Oh no, I'm gonna cry again...

We'll have our photos up soon. I think the video that Chris took will be about a week or more before anything is done because he had another job this week....

I hope to be there next year, maybe with my boat. This past summer, the wife and I made a trip to Mystic CT to attend the 2011 Wooden Boat Show.

What a disappointment :( I had expected A LOT more wooden powered boats but most were sail and a few powered.. but not as many as I had thought. I then see the videos, photos, stories of these Glen-L gatherings and I knew I missed out on an even BIGGER and better event! From what I can see, our trip was a waste of money and time even though it was nice to see the ocean again and the place my ancestors came from.

I begin my ZIP build next week. I look forward to next years gathering, one I WILL attend!
