We are extremely pleased we are going back to Hales Bar Marina for G6. Attending The Gathering and then getting to cruise the Tennessee River between there and Chattanooga is always the highlight of our cruising year. For those of you that have never taken the ride I highly suggest you try to work it into your schedule next year. A vast majority of the boats attending are easily capable of this trip and in my opinion it is the most scenic river run in the Midwest. And you end up at Chattanooga, a city they has spent millions of dollars to develop the most boater friendly riverfront I have found. Close by and in walking distance are restaurants, the aquariums, art museums, a free shuttle to run you around the downtown area, a foot traffic only bridge crossing the river with excellent views of the area and a lighted, paved & landscaped 13 mile walking trail that runs from the marina office to Chickamunga Lock. Its a great boat ride and a city with a lot to offer. I highly recommend it! (Can you tell I really like the area?

Bob,
Can't tell tell you how much I wish I was along. You know how to start a retirement! This is one heck of a cruise you are taking. Why don't you start another thread telling us a little about the highlights and how many miles you are covering.
