I only got about 30-40min of water time in my boat last week due to rough water. I hate the thought of waiting 6-7 months before I can really give my boat a good test run. A lot of the lakes that are controlled by COE and TVA are getting low this time of year (Our lake included), but the GA Power lakes are always full. Do any of you want to get together for one last outing before it's too cold? I think Lake Oconee and Sinclair are GA Power Lakes as are Burton and Rabun up in the mountains. LaPrade's Marina on Lake Burton is a Hacker-Craft dealer.

We would have to do it pretty soon. I'm willing to go out to Oconee or Sinclair if that is better. Those lakes have to have public access. Burton and Rabun should have public access, but I'll be there is only one public ramp on those two "high-brow" lakes.

There are still a few in that area that did not make the big one that would probably make a smaller one. I bet the Dragon Fly guy would be up this time around. There are also members in the western side of North Carolina not withstanding some non Glen L guys that sail and use B&B Designed boats and always up for a get together. I know one fellow that sails the Water Tribe race too that just west of of and has been itching for a small get toether around Hartwell area when we did one years ago. So this one could be just a general one of like minded robots. You could also do the Madisonville one next weekend too.

I'd love to, but I'm not sure how seaworthy my frames are. Maybe I can bring a sheet of ply and a paddle?

Hit me up next year this time, and I should be able to make it. (hopefully I'll have something boat-shaped by then ;))

Good for you jeffh, I know what it's like to have a finished boat sitting there just waiting to get wet, I launched in winter here in the sea "you won't even feel the cold" :D Bring the camcorders.

Elbow Bending Symposiums require no boat, only the desire to out tell the biggest story with likeminds.

Hey Guys,
I drove up to Lake Burton today to check out LaPrade's Marina. They have a ramp for public use and it's only a $5.00 launch fee. It is a nice gentle ramp and I would think any boat would float right off. It also seems to be protected from wind. That lake is owned by GA Power and is ALWAYS full too. It's not a huge lake, but very pretty. It's known for it's old school boat houses and I'd say the avg home price is well over $1mil. The showroom still had the HackerCraft signs up, but no boat on display. Earlier this year they had one. I noticed the Hacker site announced their new factory showroom at Lake George. They really only had two dealers in the US and one was in GA, so maybe, they are using the Lake George showroom for everything now. It would be a beautiful lake for a GL day. It is 77mi from my garage to the boat ramp. Of course, I'd still be willing to go to another lake in GA that is still full if we can do it. I snapped a photo with my phone. I also looked up Jackson Lake. I never even knew it existed, but I think it's the lake I see to the east when coming into the airport from the south. I looked it up on Goolgemaps.

On my home lake (Chatuge), yes, there is open water, but I don't think so on this lake.

When I lived up there you'd see sailboats out on burton from time to time. There's plenty of room for them out on the main body, but the wind is usually really light up there (depends on season of course)

The bass are hitting hard and heavy on Burton and Rabun both right now, just in case any of you guys fish

I can't wait to get back to GA, hopefully before Christmas I'll be back living in Rabun county instead of stuck here in Wyoming...See you guys later :D

Jeff jackson is about 35 to 40 miles southeast of atl just south of mcdonough and it to is ga power and generally stays full its kind of narrow compared to the other lakes so the wind usually isnt a problem theres a couple of good ramps to use and also shouldnt be crowded this time of year either of course there inst any mountain views but not a bad lake to cruise around on for a few hours
