Has anybody used Poxy-Grip and if so how thick is it? Glen-L states that it doesn't run.

You know I almost made this same post weeks ago... I been reading a lot since I'm an armchair bandit and I saw that Poxy Grip is fer your joints and such and then the Poxy shied is fer encapsulating... After reading here in the epoxy forum it appears most use shield on everything... If I ever get around to actually saw'm some wood, I'm gunna use both....

I haven't used poxy grip, but have used another brand that I get local that's probably very similar.

I found it handy, but took some getting used to to get the mix right cause it was so thick.

I used silicone cooking spatulas, one for resin& one for hardener,to dip the stuff out of the tubs into equal (1/1 ratio) containers to measure, then stuck them in another container to mix.

never had a bad batch, but when it was cold out, it was tough to use as it was very stiff.

Yeah it's sounds like you would need to do like ole Lott does, but them in hot wader prior to mixen to loosen them up a bit. Prolly have to be careful in warm weather though....

The stuff really isn't too bad in hot weather though....I outa know!!!

After the first cold snap, I kept it in the house so it was at least 75 degrees F room temp.....I remembered Oyster did that, but I never microwaved it like he does

Just be careful microwaving epoxy because it does give off very toxic fumes when overheated. Do that in a well ventilated place.

I used poxy grip for all my gluing. I really liked not having to add stuff to it and its 1:1 mix ratio. One part is about like honey, the other part is about twice as thick, if you hold a half full can of the stuff over expecting it to pour out it takes about 10-15 seconds before it comes out of the can at normal temps. I'd call it run-resistant. It will run at first but one or two wipes of the excess in a joint and it wont run after that.

I found that I used a lot more poxy grip to do the same job as regular thickened epoxy. It is hard to control quantity due to its thickness.

I used the Poxy Grip at first and it is very thick. I found it harder to use than the regular Glen l epoxy as I could just thicken that as I liked. Plus I didnt have to have two different kinds.
