I noticed you are in Monrovia, I am located a short distance north of you in Avon. Welcome to the glen-l forum. Good luck on your project.

I built my boat completely from lumber obtained locally at Northwest Lumber, great people, family owned. Its located near 46th street and Lafayette road on the near NW side of Indy. They have built a few small boats themselves and I ran into a few other boat builders there so they are somewhat knowledgable in what material you would be interested in and such.
Still you may have better selection and pricing by ordering, but its great to support the locals if you can. http://www.northwestlumberco.com/
