A family of Tugs.

I'm prepping the hull for primer paint right now. It's been taking a while, since I've been trying to get the hull just perfect. I feel more like a sculptor than a boat builder.

The deck was installed tonight. :D We first coated the framing and the underside of the deck pieces before we glued them in place. Once the epoxy has cured the trim bit in the router will make a big difference.

This picture is for the Pirate, I don't know what his deal is with deck seams.   But here goes, it isn't perfect. I could have spent some more time on it. I guess I will have to live with it. :D

Definitely a lot more involved that the rest of the fleet (at least those that are completed)

Also, looks like some skills are developing as well.

Looking good my man

Oh I don't have a problem with deck seams, this one you used fasteners and complained (well maybe not complained, but remarked!) to me about that and large deck seams....that's why I suggested some ways to hide them!!!

That seam looks great!!! :D

Tonight the cabin clamp was installed, it will be finished bright along with the rest of the cabin framing so bungs were used. :D Due to a problem with the plywood for the deck and filler being used around the deck edges, I decided to stain the deck. We also laminated a piece of 1/4" plywood on the main deck beam to hid the end grain of the deck beams, staining it as well.

Coming along nicely Chip- Are you planning to build the cabin as shown or do something different?

Thanks Professor,
Yes, I plan on building the cabin per plans, it is similar to the cabins on the Tubby and Tug Along. It is going to be a challenge as is without me changing things, besides I like the look. :D I plan on building a mock up of the framing before I cut my good material. I know it is alot of extra work, but I'm finding it saves me time and money in the long run.

Blair,
As I have said before I would love to build her as per plans with an electric inboard ( just like Bob Wilsons' Lo Voltage ) but after pricing that setup out. I'm looking into an outboard setup in a well. 8) I am currently looking at a 4 hp Tohatsu, I think 4 hp should be plenty. The Tohatsu can be changed over to remote control, other than start. :( I will have remote start. :D I plan on installing a "TAD" in the stern for starting.
Now stop tapping your desk and start building something. :P Beau will be grown before you know it. Believe me.

I forgot bud.... :(

I know, I know.... The issues are, I have a '57 Pan on teh work bench in the garage that I'm restore'n for a buddy, my '98 Road King had a Time Sert in the front cylinder that needs to be removed and a helicoil installed, a chopper at the metal shop getting metal work done, a 24' MasterCraft in storage that I have a load of tune up parts sitting at home waiting to be installed, not to mention I have to replace the bunk boards this winter, a 20' skiff that I have to remove the outboard and center console so I can flip and glass the bottom, PLUS I'm getting our house ready to put on the market so we can buy a bigger one on the other side of Houston.......

The GOOD news is, I already know I have a 3 car garage on the "MUST HAVE" list on our new home..... hehehe I'm gunna do it, I just have to tie up the loose ends. The Pan has been an on going project for about 3 years now. My buddy gives a little money here and there and he needs to give a little more. The cases had to have a lot of work done to them and they were sent out to Oregon to the best guy in the business. It cost him about 1800 to have the cases reworked but they are now pristine! Then another 1500 or so for rods and pistons, new crank, ect.... The motor is real close ot being ready.... My chopper has been an on going project that I started when I was still single, shall I say anymore. lol Really I have been getting stuff real cheap as I find it so I'm in no hurry on it. Heck the 113" motor I picked up for only 3500..... Now my bike I just can't find the time to get in to it.... The Skiff, well, I need to just do it, but it's hard to get the time with everything else going on..... Honey dos kill my time at home! Try being gone for 5 weeks and then only home for 3.... Those things pile up!!!!!!! Sorry I don't mean to hijack your thread. lol just figured I would state my excuses... lol

I like your lil pug and it's coming along great!!!! :D
