I am 60 years old and I have decided to build my first boat. I am looking very closely at the Lucky St. Pierre. I fel in love with it the moment I saw it. I have no experience building boats, but I do make custom flintlocks. I have so much to learn.

I am a sailor and own a 22 foot sailboat, but I want something I built myself and a boat that I can go places where the sailboat cannot. I am an adventurer by nature and I hope to take the St. Pierre on an extended river trip someday.

Any help or advice will be much appreciated. I was wondering how difficult it is to work with aluminum vs. wood?

I know I will enjoy meeting fellow boat builders on the forum!
