I have just started cutting out the planking, and having a great time. However, I've run into a road block on the dimensions for the aft bottom planking. The plans show the planking in 1/2 size (so double it for the full size planking). However, the width on the plan for the end that butts to the side-bottom planking is only 20 3/8". So, doubled, that would be 40 3/4" total width. However, the side-bottom planking to which it butts is 21 1/2 inches on each half, for a total width of 43". My confusion is confounded by the small plan on sheet one of the plans that shows how to layout the aft bottom planking on the plywood (with the keel strip and other parts) and it shows a total width at 44" (it's laid out as 10", then 12", then 12" then 10"). Surely the width has to be 43" to match up with the side-bottom planking, but I don't want to waste a sheet of plywood until I know what I'm doing. Can anyone help me with this?
