I am currently cutting and dry fitting the bottom plywood planking and am unsure of some language in the plans. The plans call for fasteners on longitudinal members and I need to know if the bottom battens are longitudinal members. Thanks

Is a plywood butt joint appropriate on the second 1/4" layer of hull bottom plywood. The first layer has scarf joints and the seams for the second layer are far from the first....Thanks

Sure, the first layer will act as a butt block

The black cherry veneer is going on nicely and I look forward to the colors it will reveal when epoxied on the outer surface. The bead and cove's have allowed for great joints. Lots of fun with the staples.........................

A quick epoxy skim coat with black cherry dust was applied to fill the staple holes (about 1200). Lots of finish work remaining. The hull bottom will be white (interlux vc offshore) with black cherry strakes. A little personality has developed!

The veneer sides have been stained with brown Interstain, two coats of CPES, fiberglass, and two coats of epoxy. The hull bottom has all but the stain, it will be white once the strakes are on. After the epoxy cures I am going to even things out with a bit of wet sanding.
