New member here in Baton Rouge, LA. I'm 28 yrs old, and knee deep in my first boat building project. I've got my father and grandfather on my team and we are 5 months into a 23 ft Tahoe build. Currently putting the final layer of mahogany on the sides.

Anyway, greetings everyone.

Welcome aboard

It always amazes me those that can do great stretches of a build without once asking for help. I think I had asked for help half a dozen times in the first month or so, although it had got easier, maybe it's a confidence thing.

Other will no doubt chime in that we must !!! have photos.

Wish I was in Louisana right now, spent 18 months in Alexandria when I was in the USAF, loved it.

Welcome to the forum. I live in Baton Rouge, also. I previously built the Squirt, and presently am building a Clarkcraft Mariner. We'll have to get together sometime and look over each other's builds. And definitely get together after we're done and do some cruising.

I am working on getting some recent photos on photobucket, as soon as I do that I will attempt to post them here. I've got a queue of questions lined up now... will be trawling these boards for the answers.

Thank you for your service.

Yea, I love the mild winters here... But the summers are HOT!

That sounds great! Where do you ride? Diversion canal?

Howdy,

I live in NW Montana, have 16 outboard motors and two vintage aluminum boats; a 14' 1962 Feather Craft Lapstrake Hawk & a 12' 1958 Heating Assurance Inc. 12SS, a Dual Cockpit Runabout, by the way if anyone knows any thing about the 12SS made in Spokane,WA I'd like to hear from them. Nelson Boats of Spokane were also produced by Heating Assurance at the same address.

Aluminum is how I found wood. What I mean to say is; researching my aluminum boats I came across the Glen-L site and designs. I have seen some truly beautiful boats that ordinary people are building. I hope to be building a 14' JET CAT by next winter.

Sincerely,

sorefeet
