I have just completed the bottom of my Squirt and turned it over. As I look ahead, I think I would like to add a low plexiglass windshield, but I am having a heck of a time finding a source of reasonably priced window brackets. All the older Chris Craft web sites and e-bay are asking as much $1,200 for the retro chrome brackets.

Does anyone know where you can buy boat windshield brackets for a more reasonable price (like under $100)?

Thanks for your help.

John

You can make some out of wood...I saw some this past september at the gathering that were totally sick! His work was so nice I had to tie up at the other end of the dock. I'll see if I can find a pic.

I did the window brackets on the saucer similar to the boat in pics, but did not frame the whole windshield. I think they look good.

Lake Shore Castings is where I got mine. They come like this for 100$ in 3 weeks. At least thats what they cost when I ordered them almost two years ago. Made at order time but only one size/style available.

I had them smoothed then chromed but they are aluminum so you might be able to smooth and polish them also to a brilliant shine.

I think its best to call, seems like an old mom and pop kind of a place. They sent the parts with the bill 3 weeks after I called to order. Nice that trustworthy on time service like that still exists.

Lakeshore Casting still sells them and they still cost $100, plus UPS charges.
I just received mine a week ago and took them to get polished. Two places recommended polishing only since they thought there would be small pits that would show if plated. After polishing, they should be clear coated to prevent oxidation. Clear coat is not needed if plated.
Also, check around for pricing on finishing. One shop wanted $175, while another wanted $75.
Here is what they look like in the rough.
