I am starting the Rebel and am probably not interested in the berths. Does anyone have other ideas on uses for this area? i could raise the top in that section a smidge for head room but am not sure what i should do there for the best use of space. this vessel will be used mostly on lake eris for fishing. maybe a few trips to the islands here and there but wont be slept on (probably). any ideas however big or small would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

I might go for a nice sitting area for waiting out a storm.

Like Bill said, with a small bench seat on each side and table in the center could be a nice area to get out of the weather or just have lunch. But honestly, I wouldn't sell the berth short. Although right now you are not thinking about doing over nights once you start running around and really enjoying the boat you might change your mind. Long weekend - why pull off the water in the evening just to go home and turn around and get up at the crack of dawn to go back out fishing. Just pack the cooler, bring along a good book or DVD player and spend the night. Or maybe your a little tired from partying hard the night before :D. Just drop the hook, open the hatch to let the breeze blow through and listen to the waves gently slapping the bow while you catch a few ZZZs. I highly recommend it!

It's either Junk Storage or Stuff Storage!
I dont think I ever saw a bunk area not full of stuff or junk.

a sitting area sounds nice. still not giving up on the berth either... im not sure how much headroom is in the plans - ill know better in a week or two. i wonder if there would be enough space for a little stove/fridge... im trying to cut down on the whole junk storage if at all possible. maybe a storage locker o two down there. i appreciate the ideas guys!
