Folks, I finally found a photo of an outboard with a full, integrated swim platform. Outboard swim platforms have been discussed a few times since I've been around and for those building an outboard powered boat, this is possible. It is definitely an older engine and I can't tell much about the shaft.

I really like how the sides extend out and curve down to meet the swim platform...it would take some forethought but I really like it! On our boats (with bigger motors) I could see the need for a larger cut out for the lower unit.

If someone were to go this route, I'd like to see knees added to keep the bottom from flexing while running, and when stepping on it too.

I built doubled , extended bottom planks on my first boat, and they flexed and contributed to porpoising. :wink:
