Hi,
last batton going in ,some fine tuneing fairing battons then plywood, I would have some ply on but I got talked into
going back to work, I lasted 3 days ,a snotty nosed apprentice, who started two weeks ago said you can't tell me what
to do, I do what I like. I replyed goodby,.
, I bought a carton of beer on the way home and worked on the boat ,the youth in this country are being completly
ruined no discipline at all , back to the riviera I need some info on ( mahogany) I know nothing about it at all,
is the Australian mahogany suitable or is the African better , I am thinking of useing red cedar for the deck but it
may clash with the mahogany any help would be appreciated thanks guys.
will try to put 3 pics on still not sure how to do it.

Old Aussie Peter..

Hiya,

African is "the goods" but is no longer easily available due to the unsustainable logging practices. If you can get some still in stock, then fantastic. I used timber from the same seeds, but plantation grown in Fiji. I am a complete amateur when it comes to wood so can't comment with any authority. Mine seems lighter than what I expected, but that apparently varies between trees anyway. From the reading I have done, the african variety produces much straighter grain in long lengths, which is nice. I do note that much of mine does have a somewhat crazy grain but that may just be the logs I got.

As for the younger generation... don't get me started!
Cheers,
Glenn.

Our prayers are with your wife.

As for you, you are never too old and it is never too late to learn new tricks.

I am still getting some work done 0n riviera, we have tracked down a raptor dealer, and have ordered guns and nails
