Looks really good now that you have the transom on. The pecan business has gone crazy down there from what I've been reading. I see that the Chinese are buying them up and driving up the prices here. I've also seen stories about people stealing them in the middle of the night.

Thanks Jeff- its really starting come along. I still have to install the motorboard on the transom which is 2 layers 3/8".

Everything you heard about the pecans is true. This year brought the highest prices that I' ve ever seen which, believe me, is nothing compared to what they sell for in the store.
They helped fund the boat and pay the property tax though and no thieves this year...that I'm aware of.

My first water test is done!
Unfortunately while I was out of town enjoying my other hobby, r/c gas-powered boat racing, we had some really bad storms here at the house. The wind ripped most of the cover off of the boat and I found about 5 inches of water in the boat this morning. I'm thankful that I have already encapsulated 95% of the inside of the boat- apparently I did a good job because there were no leaks what-so-ever  The transom has not been coated yet because I still have to put in the motorboard. hopefully the water won't hurt anything.
I had taken today off of work to put away my racing gear and work on the boat, but it looks like cleaning up is all I'll be getting done today....

That's one way to find out if she's water tight! The water should not hurt anything since you have most of it encapsulated. I've known guys who water tested their s&g kayaks with nothing but epoxy on them. Hopefully, you have a pump to get the water out.

Longitudinal cleats being constructed. I laminated 2 pieces of 1x3 together to form the motor mounts the the seat and floor cleats are 1x 1 1/2". They are epoxied and screwed to 3/8" ply. The ply is cut to conform to the battens and will be epoxied and glassed in.

I made a lot of progress this weekend. I have the longi cleats installed with a temporary spacer in between. I filleted the cleats with a pretty stiff mix of silica and epoxy and then 3" strips of glass tape on top of that. I found the best way to do that was to pre-saturate the cloth and then lay it in place. I did this while the fillets where still wet so that tape and the fillets would bond well together. I will lay down 6" tape on top of that later.
I also installed the motor-board onto the transom. That is two pieces of 3/8" ply laminated together and then I laminated it to the transom using 3/4" screws. I then trimmed the side panels and bottom panels flush with the transom using a small flush-cut razor saw. That wasn't as bad as it sounds because the boat is so small. I was afraid to use any power saw to do this.
I also finished up encapsulating the inside of the boat using a foam roller. I plan on sanding it smooth and applying another coat.
I removed all of the stitching wires (except the keel because its hard to reach) using a propane torch. I untwisted the wire and heated up one end with the torch while holding the other end. When the end that I held was too hot to hold, I pulled it through with pliers.
Thats it for now, sorry no pics but I had my hands covered in epoxy. I will take some a little later.

Your build looks great. I have the Dyno Mite plans but I think I may switch to the Dyno Jet.

OK- so its been a while since I have posted and progress has slowed way down due to it being my busy season at work. I don't have any pictures of the deck beams being installed but here are a few of the boat out in the sunlight and flipped. I am getting ready to do the chine flats and finish the bottom. I'm also trying to figure out how to cut the hole for the pump. I havent decided if I cut it from the inside or outside while its flipped. It isn't much to flip- me and a buddy used the orange straps to carry it out and flip it- it weighs about 80 pounds.
