Looks great! I'm really liking the open deck idea.

Thanks Jason, the credit for the open design belongs to the Pirate. He found out you can carry more Rum this way.  I didn't get much work done tonight, other than cleaning up my mess from trimming the decking. The Admiral paid me a visit in the garage tonight and noticed the sapele veneered transom and suggested I stain it. And like a good little sailer I followed her suggestion.

All the screws were removed and counter sunk deeper to allow for back filling, the area for the fin was flattened and we drilled for the bow eye. Last night we lightly sanded the hull. Do not heavy sand fir plywood.

Tonight we taped off and laid out the first piece of glass. We are using some 60" wide cloth that I already had, 2 Pieces of 38" cloth is all that is needed.

The fill coats are done on the hull and the inside has two coats of epoxy applied. Hopefully we will start priming the inside tomorrow. The plywood form for the coamings was finished tonight and we cut them out. The coamings still need some adjustment and sanding. but I'm happy with them. :D

Chris, it is looking great. My son and I had talked about opening up the front deck some, so I am pleased to see you trying this out. I like what you are doing with it, and so glad to see the project come back to life. I look forward to coming by some time for a visit. - Jake

Thanks Roberta :D

Jake, you are welcome to come by anytime, Just give me a call.

My plan is to prime and paint the interior before installing the deck. Easier to reach tight places that way. I wanted to have the hull painted by next weekend, but I don't think that will happen. :( She will hit the water next Sunday regardless. :D A world renowned boat expert    (I just hurt myself) is coming by to try her out.

Chip

PS, Mike don't worry. I will make him wear a PFD, his blowup swim wings and his duck float. :P Also, there will be 3 chase boats, dive team, emts, fire and police on site. I hope that is enough. Good thing I'm only putting the 4 horse on her.  He wanted the 70.

He proved once again that having the right tools can make anyone look like an expert.

How did I miss this. Oh, my, you are letting the beast loose with the troops.

This is gonna be fun to watch. You will never get them back into the tug or kidrow  But since you did such a beautiful job on the kidrow you could add a glass top and use it for a coffee table.
