Hey everyone,
I can't decide which is the best way to build the Amigo keel/stem, any sagely advice would be welcome and appreciated.

1, Should I laminate it out of Douglas fir like I did the frames?

2, Should I laminate using 4 layers of marine plywood?

I included some pics to demonstrate the difference.

I haven't done mine yet, but I was planning on laminating ply and hardwood together (ply on the inside).
Of course I'm far from a 'sagely' boat builder, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Just thought I would add an update. I decided to laminate the keel/stem like I did the frames. It is a tedious task ripping 12' 4x4's into 5/16" strips, and trying to exopy more than one strip up at a time, but the weather is great and I can't wait to get back to it.

By the way I still need to order the silicon bronze fasteners, has anyone ever ordered from Yushung? any feedback?

Thanks,
Dan
