BTW

5/8" 18 g Raptor brads shoot fine in my Porta Cable brad gun. The 7/16" won't feed though.

Hey Old Aussie, its Big Neils Son from Melbourne here
I had a look for the raptor plastic staples and found this place in
Coffs Harbour NSW link below.
At least if you deal with an aussie company they will understand
your questions much easier.

Peabody it is very easy to get hooked on this boat building.i have only just started this build and i have got another two planded already , i have two sons who run rings around me working in wood, eldest son Jamie is building Aussie Bell we plan
to launch them at the same time in the same place......i am interested in your hard wood, i did not know you had any
over there, ours is way to heavy for this type of boat building, okay for trawlers ....we are comeing over for the gathering
in september i hope to get some samples of your timber while we are there......

Hi, Ihave finished first layer of ply , it went okay but i am not happy with how i finished the bow section, i will do better
on next layer, i sanded the side ply back like a scarf joint and laped bottom ply over then sanded back to shape it
feels right but looks like crap, next layer i will butt join right thru , wont be doing a lot on the boat for a couple of
weeks need to catch up on a few jobs around the place........

Great progress. Can fixup on following layers easily enough. That can be quite a difficult area. I feel your pain, I also have to catch up on chores. Holiday tomorrow and Labour Day coming up. :)

The problem with the "she who must be obeyed" is that you have not got far enough along with the project for her to "catch the vision". Believe me, whe "she" catches it, you will all the time you need to finish because "she" will be demanding it.

Mine caught it about the time I stained the deck, then the beast came out.
