TopNotch fasteners sells #8 x 1" Frearson flat head silicon bronze screws for $17.64/100 and square drives for $20.90/100. I used square drive screws in my project, experiencing almost zero wastage as compare to about 5-7% wastage from slot stripping in driving with Frearson screws. I used a driver-drill with clutch set carefully. The link:

Glen-L are great. Even shipped to Australia they were less than 1/4 the price of lcoally purchased items for Gentry. Don't know how they do it, but they do!

I don't think they have a forum. My experience with the quality of their products and their service has been favorable.
