Hi
I have just picked up the latest copy of ( Australian amateur boatbuilder),there is a add in it for a ( classic boat regatta )
at Bribie island on the 26th + 27th May...for Steam Sail Motor &Row Boats ( Built to Traditional Designs ) entry is open
to all old and new classic and timber boats i will be going for a look , it would be a good chance for a few of us to get together
and get to know each other, I would like to drop in and see Dave at Childers, and Trackhappy on the sunshine coast on the way thru if they will be home......

Old aussie, Trackhappy etc.
I would like to meet with other GL builders at Sylvan Beach on the 27th. Look forward to seeing you there if that is your preferred location and date, I am flexible. I have attended a few times in the past and Sylvan Beach is a good spot both to see the boats on the water and with their owners on the beach.

When we organized a mini-meet& greet at a wooden boat show here in Fla, we just set it up to meet at the food tent at 2 or 3PM

Here is a link with some information:

And their map:

I live about 40 minutes from Bribie just up the Bruce highway. Not sure how to arrange for you to visit and see the show. If youare coming from the North you could drop in and we coudl drive down tot he show for the day or we coudl meet at the show and go home via my place.
Looks like Saturday is mentioned in the link above not Sunday, will see what more I can find out.

We have space at home to park the motorhome if needs be. Could leave it at home and take my car down to Bribie, not sure on parking there on the day.
0438179334 is my mobile. I am in a course next 3 days so after hours or leave a message if I don't answer.

I have only attended on the Sunday so I can't comment on Saturday. On the Sunday the boats sail/motor over from Spinnaker Sound Marina on the mainland and anchor at Sylvan Beach which is the beach on your left (North) at the Bribie Island end of the bridge. The ad in the AABB states they will be there from 11AM to 2PM on Sunday.

Looking at the document again I tend to agree with Ozzieboat. Sylvan Beach on the Sunday 11-2 seems good.

Hey guys,

If you feel like coming round to the small island, the Wooden Boat Festival will be on in Tassie in February 2013:
http://www.australianwoodenboatfestival.com.au/. It's run every two years, and draws a great crowd. Plus, my dragonfly will be there!

Cheers,
James
