Greetings to all,

I'm a new member and aspiring Zip builder writing to introduce myself. I'm retired, live in the metro Atlanta area (OTP), and have minimal woodworking experience, the most notable accomplishment being the construction of a stitch and glue Pygmy kayak a few years back. (It still floats so I guess I got most of it right). For the past several weeks I've been studying the Zip plans, the Boatbuilding with Plywood text, and this forum, impressed with the wealth of information shared here by so many skilled builders. Please stay tuned for my first plea for help ! Until then,

Cheers, Riley

We're having a builders' Gathering in September. It's just south of Chatt. on lake Nickajack. There will be Zips.

Hello Riley, welcome to the group. I have a Malahini which is similar to a Zip. I live in Hamilton Mill, which is not too far from you. My boat is in my garage for another week or two and then it will be at Lake Chatuge for the summer.
