since I have the floor panels all cut and in position...I'm moving on to the cabin....started by re-installing both port and stbd. sides.....I also framed up the opening in the roof structure for installation of a 12volt "fantastic fan/vent.......these are great, as there will be air flo. in the cabin by using one....I also have a smaller hatch for the front roof of the trunk cabin....once I get things square I can start glueing things in position......W.

Ya, I had mentioned the height issue a few post ago. I know for sure that I cannot build my cabin in my double car garage to the specifications in the plans and then hope to get it out of there. I suppose you could build it lower though? My plan is to build the cabin structure separately and then assemble to the hull outside.

today I took another measurement of the height vs the door opening in my shop....I have an 8 ft. door and as it sets on the cradle I built it appears that I'll have 6 in to spare, when I move it out...just have to be careful...........got most of the cabin re-assembled today...just squaring everything proir to glueing it together.......W.

i'll be looking at taking more pix tomorrow....will try and finish up and finalize the dash mock-up...starting to figure out the configuration of the front windows....worked on basic cabinets/ seating today.....feel I have these located to my satisfaction.....also finished glue-ing the roof structure together....hoisted it into position for trial fit/fastner locations....may start aft cabin wall-doorway framing......I need to modify it somewhat as I'm going to have a sliding entry door...a swinging door takes up too much room...opening/closing....therefor thats where the sliding door comes into play....more progress ...tomorrow.........Wayne

I have been working on trying to finalize the location of my seating VS steering location....whereby both my wife and myself can get a comfortable location of our seating.....getting close on that part.
I have been fitting the side panels on the trunk cabin....the braces are all on an angle to get a decent curve on the roof , while keeping the side panels level .....based on the plan it shows a straight line from the bottom of windows to the front of the trunk cabin....Its a little confusing, trying to get all the angles and keep everything level.....I also made a change from the plans, by raising the trunk cabin approx 3 in.....in order to have a little head room inside....since we fully intend on using the v-berth....but I am happy with the framing and should be able to fit the roof panel tomorrow.....I also have a 12 x 12 hatch for the roof....to compliment the fan in the main cabin roof.....more pix to come in a day or two.....W.

Looking great! I like your process of mocking up everything first. That's what I've always done, and quite often a move here or there by 1" will make the difference whether you can get that extra something in the right place. The finished product will be as perfect as you can get it.
Looks like you're also enjoying this part of the build.
