Anyone wanting a floating cabin should stay tuned... I have to cancel my reservation at Hale's Bar.

My wife's father's health has taken a turn for the worse. We just lost her mother last year and she will likely not feel like traveling either way.

My job is also being difficult with the whole 'do more with less' philosophy so prevalent these days. We are short handed and no one is getting hired. Hence, vacations are being 'discouraged' as a prelude to being 'canceled'.

I'll hate to postpone my attendence for another year, but life happens. I'll just have to wait to meet all you fine people a bit longer. :(

I'll be calling the marina in the morning.

Sorry to hear you will not be attending. I was looking forward to meeting you and your family.

FOR THOSE PLANNING A RIVER TRIP AT G6 -

Here is a posting about Chickamauga Lock which is just upstream of Chattanooga.

The single chamber at Chickamauga Lock, MM471, is scheduled for closure to navigation from 0600 August 21 through 1800 September 13, 2012. No auxiliary lock is available to pass traffic during this closure. This will stop all navigation above Chattanooga during this time.

This is from the Ingram Marine's (a barge company) web site about river conditions. This is a nice resource for those planning river cruises - http://www.ingrambarge.com/default.aspx?v=barge/resources/conditions

WE'RE DOWN TO 3 MONTHS TO GO:!: We have lots of new boats and lots of new people! I'm going to try harder to let the new people know how it all works. I think that last year some people were a little lost when the people who had been there several years just started doing because they knew.

BUMMER DAVE! :( :( :( Your family and your boat will be missed greatly and leave a big hole to be filled. I hope we fill it with some first time folks and their newly built boats.

Dave

Sorry to hear. You add a Lott to the Gathering. I hate that you can't be there. Best of luck with what you're going through.
